Christian alternative band, Hyland, releases their sophomore album, Finding Our Way. Hyland uses this album as a symbolism for how far they've come in life, music, and their faith to provide a musical outlet and guide for listeners looking for a purpose and sense of direction in their own life. The band has taken the approach to combine lyrical topics that convey their personal experiences as well as experiences that cater to the listener's struggles and personal outlooks.

Opening the album with the contemporary track "Power & Love," the band makes the overall message very clear quoting 2 Timothy 1:7, that God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power and love. What makes this song unique, considering Hyland's a full band, is they left out the guitar for a portion of the song giving it more of a light and rejuvenating sound however still keeping the band's identity.

"Wondering & Waiting" is a great track off of the album combining nicely blended guitar riffs and keys along with the lead singer's edgy pop vocals. It's a fun song to listen to and gives you an interactive feeling that makes you want to sing along with the band. The message shows two sides of the "Wondering & Waiting" lyrics: one being waiting on if the dreams you have for yourself is bigger than what you deserve and secondly, transitioning into waiting to see what God has in store.  "Wondering & Waiting" has a great message that really does apply to people of all ages.

"Work In Progress" is definitely one of the more unique tracks off of the album musically. Whistling, alternative rock sounds combined with an uplifting and positive message are the fine ingredients that make this song so catchy. Conveying through the lyrics that a person may not be where they want to be in life at the moment, Hyland exclaims that you're always a work in progress being prepared for the shining moment God has in store for you.

Finding Our Way is great sophomore album for Hyland. Their talents in all aspects have evolved as well as learning what it takes to be a Christian band. Taking personal experiences that strengthened their faith over the years as well as experiences that people go through in day to day was a perfect theme that caters to all aged listeners. Anyone will be able to listen to this album and take away at least one important theme, life lesson or personal reminder. However, the overall theme is to always rely on God no matter the situation or struggle.
