D'Mott: "The Upcoming Album "Romance In The Gray" is my expression of God's love for us and towards us. It focuses on having and intentional relationship with God, which directly connects us with Jesus Christ. So in other words, It's a faith based marriage of spirituality wrapped in verses and music."
BreatheCast: How would you describe your sound for people that haven't heard of you guys and what bands have influenced your sound?
D'Mott: "I would describe my sound as urban/hip-hop/quartet with a touch of rock. Music of all genres have influenced my sound actually! Bands, artists who have influenced me are; John P. Kee, Meshell-Ndegeocello,THe Gap Band, Van Halen, Led Zepplin, Tim Mole,Hamid Motley, The Caton Spirituals and believe it or not.... I love too many rappers to name!"
BreatheCast: Tell us the story behind your single, "Friend"?
D'Mott: "Writing "Friend" was based on me sitting down after preaching a sermon, I started thinking about the validity of most relationships I've been in. I could'nt help but wonder why is it that people seem to only be genuine when times are good, But God loves me when I'm good and when I fail."
BreatheCast: What are the biggest differences performing worship music while drumming as opposed to singing?
D'Mott: "I feel the biggest difference between ministering on the drums and singing is the fact that as an artist I am responsible for the words that I speak and how they affect the people."
BreatheCast: If you could collaborate with one Secular Artist and one Christian Artist, who would you choose?
D'Mott: "If I had the opportunity to work with a secular artist it would be Charlie Wilson and my gospel artist would hands down be J Moss!"
BreatheCast: Do you have a favorite scripture or a truth that you use a lot? If not, what are some personal favorite verses of yours?
D'Mott: "My favorite bible scripture is Isaiah 53:5. Because I believe that our healing is based on our understanding of Christ's suffering for all of us!"
