Apple is expected to launch the MacBook Pro 2016 later this month. With the revamped laptop line ending the year, the first Apple device that is expected to open 2017 is the iPad Pro.

According to reports, there will be three variants of the iPad that will be launched in early 2017, distinguished by their varying sizes. The three variants include a 9.7-inch, 10.1-inch and 12.9-inch. However, there are also rumors that the iPad Mini 5 will be launched alongside the iPad Pro variants. It the rumors are true, then another 7.9-inch variant will be added to the lineup, and it will reportedly be known as the iPad Mini Pro.

The iPad Mini 5 is rumored to come out by March 2017, which is about the estimated time when the iPad Pro 2017 variants will be launched too. There are also speculations that the iPad Mini 5 or iPad Mini Pro could be the smallest of the iPad Pro 2017 lineup. If that is so, then the iPad Mini 5/ Pro could come with the features of the iPhone 7, such as an A9X chipset, 3 GB of RAM, 32 to 256 GB of internal storage, an 8 megapixel camera, and a 1.2 megapixel front-facing shooter.

Additionally, there are rumors that the 3D Touch panel will be integrated into the mini tablet. Consumers will also reportedly see the 3.55 mm headphone jack of the iPhone 7 fall out of the next iteration of the iPad Mini.

As for the price, reports suggest that the iPad Mini 5 may come with a $450 price tag for the 32 GB model, which might be its new minimum storage.

Apple has yet to confirm or deny the inclusion of the new iPad Mini in the iPad Pro 2017 launch.
