iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 Release Date Rumors: New iPhone Features 13 Megapixel Camera, IGZO Screen Display, iOS 7 [VIDEO]
The new iPhone 5S or iPhone 6 could be released as early as June, according to some reports. That seems a little soon and inconsistent with Apple's usual launch process. Now claims are cropping up across the Web that Apple won't be releasing a new iPhone until 2014. Though I still don't believe they'll wait that long, I really wish they would. Chances are if Apple waited until 2014, they'd bypass the 5S and go straight to the iPhone 6, a vast improvement instead of a mediocre upgrade.
Though Apple's been pretty tight-lipped, CEO Tim Cook did have some encouraging words for fans.
"Our teams are hard at work on some amazing new hardware, software, and services that we can't wait to introduce this fall and throughout 2014."
As for specs and features that iPhone 5S [let's face it they're sticking with the "S" naming convention] will feature a new IGZO screen display, iOS 7, A7 quad core processor and up to 128GB storage. To match the Samsung Galaxy S4, the new iPhone 5S will most likely have a 13 megapixel camera and because of the IGZO display technology, the battery will last longer.
On everybody's wishlist this year is wireless charging. Apple recently purchased a patent for this type of technology, leading many to believe if this is finally the year.
Fingerprint sensors are a little less likely. Though it would be a cool new take on smartphone security, it's unlikely Apple will use the time and money towards the feature.
