Its official, Apple's next-generation of iPhone will be a 5s and not a 6. The 5s is already in mass production, and several photos have leaked revealing a major changes in hardware. It is rumored to have an upgraded 12-megapixel camera, a dual-LED flash, and a possible plastic frame, a 4-inch IGZO display with the same Retina resolution as the iPhone 5, an A6 processor clocked a bit faster than the current model, quad-core SGX 554MP4 graphics, 2GB of RAM and an upgraded LTE radio
The new leaks are unconfirmed, as the iPhone 5s is not set to release until the holiday season. Apple also acquired Authentec, which is a company that uses fingerprint technology to identify user management and security. The company also houses smart sensors, identity management, and embedded security. They may use the release of the iPhone 5s to have fingerprint technology.
Some are suggesting that the shell with be a light weight aluminum. Rumors of an internal overall are also underway, to allow for competition in battery life and space.
Experts are now saying a release date for September or October with an upgrade to iOS 7. Apple has confirmed that new software will be released around September, but it could be the release of a new entry level phone that has a complete plastic frame. News of the new entry level iPhone is rumored to be called 'iPhone Math', and it could possibly come in multiple sizes. Apple is not likely to release both the iPhone 5s, and a new entry level phone at the same time, or even before the end of 2013.
