iPhone 5S vs Galaxy Note 3 Rumors: iOS 7 or 5.99 Inch Display, A7 Chip or Snapdragon Processor? September 2013 Release for Both Phones?
Been thinking about getting a Samsung Galaxy Note 3? Well hold your horses. The latest news out of the Apple iPhone 5S rumor mill may just have you waiting for the new iPhone to be released.
Here's a round up of what we've learned thus far:
Let's start with the release date. The closer we get to the third quarter of 2013, the easier it will be to nail down both phones' release dates. As for now, the Note 3 keeps being connected to a possible early September launch at the Samsung Unpacked Event, before the IFA conference in Berlin. Maybe launch at Unpacked, and roll out inventory after IFA?
As for Apple, they usually release new devices in fall. If Apple also launches the new iPhone 5S in September, it means the phone won't be available for purchase as late as October.
Display is a big selling point for the Note 3, if you're getting a little bored with the 4-inch iPhone 5 screen. While Apple will likely not budge on what they believe to be the desired iPhone display size, the Note 3 could be as large as 5.77 inches, or even 5.99. Sharp IGZIO technology has been rumored for the iPhone 5S, while a Full HD Super AMOLED screen is believed to come with the Galaxy Note 3.
Camera is a pretty easy rumor to predict. With the Galaxy S4 coming equipped with a 13-megapixel camera, Apple will most likely match for the iPhone 5S. What would be more surprising is if Samsung decides to feature such a powerful computer on such a large "phablet" sized phone.
As for processor, Apple will probably update the iPhone 5S with either the A6X chip in the iPad 4, or feature a brand new A7 processor. Chances are the A7 will wait for the iPhone 6. The Note 3 is expected to receive an updated quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor.
The iPhone 5S will obviously come equipped with the new iOS 7, Apple plans to release fall 2013. The Note 3 will most likely feature the latest Android 4.3 operating system, but may be limited to 4.2.
Price points should remain consistent with past releases. The 16GB iPhone 5S will most likely be priced at $199.99. Due to the Galaxy Note 3's S Pen and display size, it'll probably be priced a little more expensive. Say $299.99?
