iPhone 8 Release Date, News, Rumors: Next Flagship Comes Out Next Year But Still No 5-Inch Model?
There are two rumors surrounding the iPhone 8 release date next year: one is that there's going to be a 5-inch model, which is deemed to be the perfect size for the smart phone. And second, Apple is sticking to the 4.7-inch and the 5.5-inch variants.
A news report from Japanese newspaper Nikkei claimed that Apple is releasing three iPhone models next year-one that includes the 5-inch model-and all will come with a glass back.
"Apple has tentatively decided that all the 5.5-inch, 5-inch and 4.7-inch models will have glass backs, departing from metal casings adopted by current iPhones," the alleged insider said. "And Biel and Lens are likely to be providing all the glass backs for the new iPhones next year."
Apple has been accused of churning out the same product year after year in terms of design, while other smart phones in the market have innovated and pioneered.
However, another round of rumors claimed that there's going to be no 5-inch model for the iPhone 8.
AppleInsider debunked the Nikkei report in terms of the sizes of the Apple iPhones 8 next year. But its own source could not confirm whether or not the smart phones would have glass backs.
What it does say, however, is that the iPhone 8 will have an AMOLED display, just like Samsung Galaxy products, as well as a "glass sandwich" body. The prototypes allegedly showed promising results on the structure but Apple has "fallback designs" just in case the new experiment doesn't work.
