iPhone Mini Specs, Rumors, Release Date: Apple to Release Second iPhone, Compete with Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini [VIDEO]
The smartphone world is downsizing. Samsung recently announced they'd be unveiling their new Galaxy S4 mini at their London tech event in June. Apple is now rumored to be releasing two new iPhones in 2013: the highly anticipated iPhone 5S, and possibly and a low-cost alternative, the iPhone mini.
The release date for both phones is a mystery but reports claim anywhere from June and September to a 2013 holiday release. The iPhone mini's specs and features are rumored to resemble the iPhone 4S. To drive cost down, the iPhone mini will most likely have a slower processor, and smaller display with less resolution.
iPhone mini rumors are nothing new. It seems every year when it's time to unveil the new installment in the flagship series, a second, less expensive iPhone is rumored to be on the list as well. Because Samsung is believed to be launching it's own Galaxy S4 mini, many believe 2013 is finally the year Apple delivers on the speculation.
However, Apple CEO Tim Cook is spilling any rumors regarding the company's iPhone mini plans. When asked about a simultaneous iPhone launch, Cook replies "so far" the company hasn't decided on an iPhone mini.
"It takes a lot of work, a lot of really detailed work, to do a phone right, when you manage the hardware, software and services around it," adds Cook. "We've chosen to focus our energy on getting those right. And we've made the choices in order to do that. So we haven't become defocused [by] working on multiple lines."
Would you consider buying an iPhone mini, if Apple in fact releases one in 2013?
