iTunes 12 Beta Download: New Beta for OS X Yosemite Ahead of Release Date Fall 2014

Apple released the third version of iTunes 12 beta to its developers Thursday. The new beta was sent to the members of Apple's Seed program to configure bugs and enhancements.

The newest beta did not show any drastic changes aside from a couple of interface enhancements. It's almost the same beta they released last September, which was also copied from the first beta they sent out in July.

With minimal changes, critics were not really impressed.

9to5mac gave a review saying, "There do appear to be some new icons in the preferences screen, but for the most part, it's the same as the other betas we've seen."

Another iTunes user voiced out his opinion on the said update, "Also, the graphic and the function of the miniplayer's expand/collapse button is different."

As for the interface, the new beta shows translucent windows and a new set of navigation bars with "new library viewing options," according to AppleInsider.

The said update can support the new Apple could service in iOS 8, Family Sharing. Family Sharing allows content availability to up to six members of the family who are registered under one credit card account.

iTunes 12 is reported to be released this Fall, and they will also release OS X Yosemite within the same timeframe. Other reports hinted that the release of iTunes 12 will happen in late November.

iTunes 12 beta is available for download exclusively for developers and AppleSeed members through the Software Update tool in OS X 10.10 Yosemite.
