Jackie Chan Death Hoax 2013 / Martial Arts Actor Not Dead From Movie Stunt Despite Rumors / Fake Facebook App Goes Viral / Chan Proves He's Living Via Facebook, Twitter

Looks like Jackie Chan is the victim of yet another Internet death hoax ploy. Let me repeat. Jackie Chan is not dead. Fans of the martial arts superstar should be on the look out for any pop-ups or bogus news story claiming the actor died from any type of movie stunt related occurrence.

The false report back in June has resurfaced as a Facebook pop-up ad, claiming Chan died after some freak stunt. The app pretends to lead to a video of the "tragedy".

It seems like death hoaxes just come in Chan's dangerous line of work. On June 23, 2013 Global Associated News published a story that, "Actor Jackie Chan died while filming a movie in Kitzbühel, Austria early this morning."

The website has since changed the date of the accident to today, August 5 stating at the top of the article: "This story is still developing"

The article still describes the August 5 accident, the same as the June 23 article.

"Preliminary reports from Austrian Police officials indicate that the actor fell more than 50 feet to his death in a remote area of the Hahnenkamm mountains while on-set during the filming of a movie. Specific details are not yet available. The accident occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. (UTC/GMT +12)."

Back in June, after hearing about his tragic death, Chan posted a message via Twitter and Facebook assuring his fans he's still alive.

"Hi everybody! Yesterday, I got on a 3am flight from India to Beijing. I didn't get a chance to sleep and even had to clean my house when I got home. Today, everybody called to congratulate me on my rumored engagement. Afterward, everybody called me to see if I was alive."

Engagement and death; all in a day for Jackie Chan!
