Jackie Chan Death Hoax / Martial Arts Actor Alive, Planning Beijing Theme Park: "I Want to Exhibit All My Stuff"
Internet, you are a cruel mistress.
Revered martial arts actor Jackie Chan is not dead. Before you go posting things on Twitter and Facebook, keep in mind the Internet loves killing off celebs. A death hoax popped up online back in May and has spread like wildfire ever since.
Chan has embraced the death hoax with grace and a sense of humor. According to his Facebook account, he'll be celebrating his 60th birthday next year. To honor the "monumental occasion" Chan plans on celebrating in Beijing with friends and fans from across the world.
Details on how to register for Chan's birthday event will be announced on his Facebook page.
As if Chan's body of work wasn't enough, the alive and kicking actor is planning on opening his own theme park in Beijing.
"I was very poor when I was a child, so when I had money later on, I bought all sorts of things and went around the world collecting them... I want to exhibit all my stuff. They may not all be worth a lot of money, but they may have a story behind them," Chan explained.
But the theme park is no cash grab. Chan plans on more than half of the park to be free of charge.
"60 per cent of the park will be free, 40 per cent will be ticketed, with the money used to maintain the antique buildings... I am not short on money," said Chan.
Again Internet, Jackie Chan is not dead. Though a death hoax usually means you're cemented as an entertainment icon, just give it a rest.
