Jasmine Murray To Release Full-Length Solo Debut Album 'Fearless' On June 15
Former "American Idol" Season 8 contestant and Miss Mississippi Jasmine Murray is releasing her much-anticipated full-length solo debut album as a Christian artist, Fearless, on June 15 with pre-orders available now at places like Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon Music, and Google Play Music.
The debut single and title track on the upcoming album, "Fearless," garnered Murray her first Top 5 song and her current single, "No Other Love," has already been picked up by radio on the WAY-FM network, Z88 Orlando, KTIS Minneapolis, WONU Chicago, and WMIT Asheville.
Murray is also nominated for two 2018 K-Love Fan Awards in the categories Female Artist of the Year and Breakout Single of the Year for "Fearless," and fans can still vote for the singer in both categories at the K-Love Fan Awards website. The awards show will be held in Nashville next Sunday on May 27 and televised on TBN next week on May 31.
Although Fearless marks Murray's full-length solo album debut, she is no newcomer to the spotlight. In 2009, at age 16, she ended as Top 13 finalist on "American Idol" Season 8, and in 2014 was named Miss Mississippi and placed in the Top 10 in Miss America 2015, helping her to pay for college entirely with her contest earnings.
Despite her numerous successes, Murray says that in the dark, fear whispered she was "not good enough." With a supportive family and help from God, she began pushing back and using her songwriting and newfound platform to show others they are not alone.
"We all have chinks in our armor," says Jasmine. "Some are clearly seen from the outside. Mine were on the inside; I secretly battled fear and anxiety. I know it looks like I had it all together, but I didn't."
"I feel like I'm on a journey now, and it's a privilege to be able to share that with people," explains Murray. "I know this is my purpose. I'm where I'm supposed to be. I want to reach people with the message God's given me."
Last year, Murray hit the road with fellow "American Idol" contestants-turned-Christian-artists Mandisa and Danny Gokey and plans to head out again this fall with Mandisa on her "Girls Night Out" tour. Wrapping earlier this month, she joined 7eventh Time Down on their spring "Only King Forever Tour," which also featured fellow artists Lovecollide and Jamison Strain.
