Former American Idol Contestant, Jason Castro has just recently released his new single called "Rise To You".

Castro is currently on tour with The Sidewalk Prophets and will also be doing a string of shows with Ryan Cabrera in June 2013.

The former Season 7 American Idol star made it to the Top 4 in 2007.

Since then, Castro has released 5 different albums and has gotten much appraise from his fans.  The multi-genre artist has already sold over 100,000 albums since his debut album after Idol called, Who I Am. 

The latest album that features his new single, "Rise To You" is much different then what fans may maybe used to with Castro. Compared to the laid back, easy going artist from Idol, his music in the new album shows that he has gone through some definite life changes, and has even picked up electric guitar.

His song "Only A Mountain" was also a defining spot on the album this year. That is why I picked it for the cover title. Its about having faith. That's been a great realization the last few years for me. The little things im going through, the struggle that seem like such a big deal when they're not. So many other people go through the same thing really. This is just a short moment in a long journey. It helps to put things in perspective" states Castro, speaking of his latest album.

Also since Idol, Castro has gotten married to Mandy Mayhall and they have a baby named Madeline that will turn two in August.

Both life changes have made a large impact on his writing and ultimately have allowed him to channel much deeper emotions to go into his albums. "Getting married-having kids. That really forces you to look at yourself and see what your all about. In that- there is a bit of a struggle. Its always who I want to be, versus who I am". 

Castro has recently began the "Winter Jam" tour this spring and is opening for some very popular artists. The Winter Jam Tour is accompanied by artists as Toby Mac, Red, The Sidewalk Prophets, and Newsong. All bands are hosting a $10 concert that allows fans to rock out with these artists and share the love of God.
