Jay Z, Justin Timberlake & Madonna Are Apparently Not Joining Concert Boycott Against Florida

Several reports had surfaced recently that many high profile performers including Jay Z, Justin Timberlake and Madonna were following in Stevie Wonders footsteps to boycott performing in the state of Florida following the acquittal of George Zimmerman for the murder of Trayvon Martin.

However, representatives of these artists are now all coming out denying that this is true. One rep responded, "I don't know where this list came from."

After the verdict of the case was announced last week, Stevie Wonder made public his feelings during a performance in Quebec City. Wonder said from stage, "I decided today that until the Stand Your Ground law is abolished in Florida, I will never perform there again."

He went on to say, "As a matter of fact, wherever I find that law exists, I will not perform in that state or in that part of the world."

There are over 20 states that hold some form of "Stand Your Ground" laws, including Wonder's home state of Michigan.

We will see if other artists come out themselves and confirm that they will be a part of the boycott along with wonder, but until then, the noise of this growing list has just been rumors.

Jay Z and his wife Beyonce' did attend National Action Network 100 City "Justice For Trayvon" Vigil on Saturday in New York. Trayvon's mother Sybrina Fulton spoke to the crowd on hand. The goal was to have 100 cities participate in vigils around the country.
