Jennifer Lawrence Steals the Show in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Fans of The Hunger Games trilogy will not be disappointed with the second installment "Catching Fire." Jennifer Lawrence burst onto the Hollywood scene with her stunning performance in the first Hunger Games movie and critics agree that she steals the show in "Catching Fire" as well. The movie takes off right where the first film ended, Lawrence's character Katniss Everdeen just won the Hunger Games competition with her partner and kind of boyfriend Peeta, played by Josh Hutcherson. "Catching Fire" centers on the two as they are forced back into the arena for the "Quarter Quell" which happens every 25 years.

Francis Lawrence of "I Am Legend" who takes over from Gary Ross directs the film. The film is mostly shot in dark icy grey and some blue hues, which make for a beautiful look and feel.

Once Katniss and Peeta enter the arena for the "Quarter Quell," the movie takes a violent turn, but the director always manages to keep it within reason for the family audience.

The competitors are up against vicious monkeys, blood that rains from the sky and tons of toxic fog. Not to mention, they also have to look out for other tributes who want them dead.

Many critics are saying that "Catching Fire" is better than the original Hunger Games movie because it had a bigger budget, better director and seasoned actors. Are you going to go see The Hunger Games: Catching Fire this weekend? Let us know what you think about the trilogy in the comments!
