Jeremy Lin Trade Rumors Continue As Linsanity Records First Career Triple Double (VIDEO)
Houston Rockets star point guard Jeremy Lin felt truly honored to finally record his first ever career triple-double following an awe-inspiring NBA journey that started with him as an undrafted rookie right out of Harvard University, D-League player, an unlikely superstar in New York City with the Knicks and currently an essential athlete for the Houston Rockets.
The 26-year-old player could not believe that he has finally accomplished one of the most occasional feats as a professional basketball athlete, by accomplishing the extremely rare triple double.
"It's kind of humbling to think about the whole journey and now this. It's another cool thing," said Lin to reporters after having 15 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in 29 minutes of play off the bench in the Rockets' 106-92 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on February 1.
Lin's current teammate James Harden was a former bench player for Oklahoma City Thunder before being traded to the Rockets a few years ago.
"That's hard to do," said Harden of amassing a triple-double as a bench player, according to The National adding. "It's just hard to be able to score the basketball, grab rebounds and pass the ball and get your teammates involved off the bench as a point guard. It's tough. But he's talented enough to do it and he did it."
Several NBA experts believe Lin could still be relocated before the trade deadline, particularly if he continues his performance this year.
Most recently, Lin has been averaging at least 17 points and 8 assists per game as teams including the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, Toronto Raptors and Charlotte Bobcats surface as possible destinations for the star of the Linsanity film.
