John Schlitt Live Interview on New Christmas Album, "The Christmas Project"

Grammy and Dove Award winning artist, John Schlitt, has recently released his first solo Christmas album titled, "The Christmas Project". The album that was released in early November was produced by Dan Needham and is a respective rendition of Christmas classics. The 10-track album was discussed during a brief interview with Schlitt this morning, as he talked about his upcoming tour dates and the making of the "Christmas Project". Schlitt stated during the interview that Christmas has always been his favorite time of the year, and that he has always felt that he wasn't contributing enough. After being turned down by his former band, Petra, and four solo debuts later, John finally decided that it was time to contribute and make his first Christmas record.

"After my fourth CD as a solo artist, I was just like, I think it's time. It just seemed like everything came together, and for other reasons it just seemed like it was the right time to do it. I was finally able to do it after 40-years of being in the music business", stated John regarding the making of the "Christmas Project". During the interview John also talks about his favorite singles on the CD such as; "That Spirit of Christmas", "Little Drummer Boy", and "What Christmas Needs to Be".  " I wanted to respect the spirit of Christmas music. Understand that it serves a great purpose, and I wanted to give it the passion that it deserves. The songs have a feel that is as close to traditional as possible, and on the other hand are interesting enough to where they're different". John continues talking about the Kickstarter program, the possibility of a new album, and what he has been doing to promote the new album during the rest of the interview.
