'Jurassic World' Release Summer 2015 Cast Ty Simpkins (Iron Man 3, Insidious) for Lead Role (VIDEO)

Jurassic World officially has a new cast member for the upcoming 2015 summer blockbuster. 

Ty Simpkins will be the lead child role for the upcoming Steven Spielberg movie. 

Ty Simpkins, the 12-year-old child actor from New York City, recently starred in Insidious and also as the sidekick of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) in Iron Man 3. 

Director Colin Trevorrow is still working on the cast with "Parenthood" actress Bryce Dallas Howard in talks for the female lead. Jake Johnson from "Safety's Not Guaranteed" is reportedly being considered for a role in the movie. 

Filming is set to begin early next year and is scheduled for a June 12, 2015 release date. 

Simpkins also starred in Spielberg's sci-fi epic War of the Worlds in 2005.
