Justin Timberlake and 'N Sync to Reunite at 2013 MTV VMAs
"Bye Bye Bye" no more. 'N Sync will be on stage for the first time in years. MTV announced that along with honoring former frontman Justin Timberlake with the Video Vanguard Award, the fivesome [JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Chris Kirkpatrick and Joes Fatone] would join the "Mirrors" singer for a "reunion performance" at the VMAs this year.
Because of Timberlake's solo success it seemed unlikely 'N Sync would ever be reunited. Why? Timberlake has two movies to promote and an international tour for his last two records, the full 20/20 Experience.
Could it be a testament to 2013, the year of the boy-band return? Trying to capitalize on the success of new wave guy groups One Direction and The Wanted, veteran man bands like Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees and New Kids on the Block have all reprised their 90s days with a slew of talk show spots and public appearances
Still, the fact that MTV didn't elaborate on what kind of performance 'N Sync will be reuniting for doesn't bode well for fans that wanted to see the puppet strings and crazy hair styles. Hopefully they perform a full song together on stage and not some cheesy barbershop quartet rendition of "It's Gonna Be Me".
Are you excited about the 'N Sync reunion performance at the VMAs this Sunday on MTV?
