Katy Perry Claims God Answered Her Prayers for a Fuller Figure; Reveals Losing Her Virginity Aged 16 While Recording Christian Album

Katy Perry recently told Marie Claire that she no longer identifies with any religion, however, despite those comments the pop singer also recently told GQ magazine that she does still attribute answered prayer to some of the more superficial things she has experienced in her life.

"I laid on my back one night and looked down at my feet, and I prayed to God," Perry said when talking about her prayers for larger womanly features.

"At age 11, God answered my prayers," she said, glancing down on her fuller figure as she spoke with the magazine.

Perry, 29, grew up in a Christian home with both parents, Maurice Keith Hudson and Mary Christine Hudson, being traveling Pentecostal ministers.

In 2012, the pop star released a revealing diary of her California Dreams Tour titled, Katy Perry: Part of Me. In the film she spoke of her upbringing as a Christian, and being engulfed in church activities.

Perry once a Christian artist herself, told GQ that by 16 and while in Nashville, where she was set to record her first Christian album, she had other things in mind. The "Unconditional" singer reveals that she lost her innocence as Jeff Buckley's album Grace was playing in the background and while she was in the front seat of a Volvo sedan.

The singer also proudly revealed that she believes in being natural: "I've never had any plastic surgery," she said.

"Not a nose, not a chin..." she added. "So my messages of self-empowerment are truly coming from an au naturel product."

"I see everything from a spiritual lens. I believe in a lot of astrology. I believe in aliens,"  Perry said while talking about her spiritual side.

Perry has now gone on to completely remove herself from her Christian upbringing.

"I don't believe in a Heaven or a Hell, or an old man sitting on a throne," the 29-year-old Pop star said in her recent interview. "I'm not Buddhist, I'm not Hindu, I'm not Christian, but I still feel like I have a deep connection with God."
