Katy Perry is now the most followed person on Twitter after she passed fellow musician Justin Bieber. Bieber held the top spot for over nine months until Perry released her album "Prism" and generated enough buzz to get her social media numbers to soar. Perry told USA Today, "I've learned how to ride social media... I feel like I've learned how to tame that social media dragon. When you decide to have a glass of wine, put the phone down. Don't drink and tweet. Don't be self-indulgent. Don't use it just to promote yourself. That's boring."

Perry also dominates on Facebook with 59.25 million likes behind only Lady Gaga, who has 60.35 million.
