Kelly Clarkson Talks Baby Names and Nausea on 'The Ellen DeGeneres Show' Friday

Though Kelly Clarkson won the first season of American Idol, has sold millions of records and can call country superstar Reba McEntire her stepmother, she's not letting her A-list celebrity status get to her head, especially when it comes to naming her and husband Brandon Blackstock's first child.

Appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show Friday, Clarkson didn't reveal what the couple would be naming their baby, but did confirm it wouldn't be some weird celebrity baby name.

"You know how [famous] people ... name their child. And see, all I'm thinking of are real celebrity baby names and I don't want to insult anyone," Clarkson said. "But so I can't think of anything funny but it will be like, Sweater Mic. And you know it'll be weird. Don't you think so? People name their kids weird names."

Not yet knowing the baby's gender, Clarkson said she's settled on a unisex name. DeGeneres unsuccessfully tried to guess possible gender-bending names. Clarkson remained tight-lipped and even took a jab at Beyonce and Jay-Z's first child.

"No, you won't guess it. It's like a random name," she said. "It's not like some weird famous person that's gonna be like, Blue Jazz. It's not gonna be like weird."

Though Clarkson remained in good spirits on the show, she confessed the pregnancy-related nausea has taken a toll on the singer.

"I'm not even kidding, it's so bad. It's so bad. I know it's like so gross. And that's the thing, too, you're not attractive when you're pregnant. Everybody tells you (that) you glow and you're hair is pretty and you're nails are pretty. That's total crap. My nails are short, my hair still falls out like it's not all lush and beautiful, and I have no glow. Unless it's, like, something left over from a bad throw up. It's horrible."
