KENDRICK LAMAR'S VERSE ON BIG SEAN'S CONTROL: THE RESURRECTION HIP-HOP NEEDED ! GAME CHANGER / LUPE FIASCO RESPONDS!
If you've been living under rock for the past couple of days you've missed all the controversy behind Kendrick Lamar's verse on Big Sean's "Control" record. On Monday night, Big Sean's "Control" dropped. The single was leftovers from his upcoming album Hall of Fame, and the track featured Jay Electronica and Kendrick Lamar, who was awarded MTV's Hottest M.C. title!
Here's a brief run-down of what K-Dot actually spit on the track after claiming to be the "King of New York" and name dropping a sh** load of popular rapper's names!
"I'm usually homeboys with the same n----s i'm rhymin with/ But this is hip-hop and them n----s should know what time it is/ And that goes for Jermaine Cole, Big K.R.I.T., Wale/ Pusha T, Meek Mill, A$AP Rocky, Drake/ Big Sean, Jay Electron', Tyler, Mac Miller/ I got love for you all but I'm tryna murder you n----s/ Tryna make sure your core fans never heard of you n----s/ They don't wanna hear not one more noun or verb from you n---as"
After the "Black Hippy M.C." annihilated a track that wasn't even his better than the man (Big Sean) who invited him to get a feature on, the airwaves in the digital and media world went bizzerk ! Rappers Lupe Fiasco, Pusha T, Joe Budden, and Fabolous took their twitter accounts to talk about Kendrick's madness on the mic.
"I hear u loud and clear my n---a... @kendricklamar," Pusha T tweeted right after the song was released.
Lupe Fiasco tweeted "Y'all know y'all easily impressed. Bar so low you need a shovel to get at it."
Joe Budden tweeted "A Cali n---a just said he's the King of NY & u n---as so f---ing worried about your relationships, y'all make me sick," "Where's old NY !???!"
rapper fabulous was just ready to get in the studio, tweeting "Any studios open yet?" early that morning.
As of today Wednesday, August 14th all sorts of Hip-hop artist are ready to take Kendrick up on his challenge and slick lyrics. Here's what Lupe Fiasco had to say on his SLR 2 (Take a listen down below):
"N---- you ain't Nas, n---- you ain't Jay Z/You will respect me, you will reject me/But I've done so much, no matter how far you go, you will reflect me"
Brooklyn MC Joell Ortiz responded on his "Outta Control (Response to Kendrick Lamar)" by spitting:
"Homey, you ain't the king of New York; you're the next thing on my fork."
I'm expecting plenty more responses to Kendrick's heated rant. One things for sure, Kendrick changed the game with this one. He's finally bringing Hip-Hop back from the grave a pure RESSURECTION!
