Kesha Enters Rehab for an Eating Disorder, Declares 2014 as 'The Year of Truth and Freedom'
Pop star Kesha recently admitted herself to rehab for an eating disorder brought upon by her lifestyle in the public eye.
The singer has had a lot of success with her pop tunes topping the charts time after time. Her controversial outfits and stage antics have gotten a lot of media attention, but it appears the carefree, anything goes, rock star life has caught up with the singer.
In a statement provided by her rep on Friday, she said she will be taking time off to love herself.
"I'm a crusader for being yourself and loving yourself, but I've found it hard to practice," she said. "I'll be unavailable for the next 30 days, seeking treatment for my eating disorder to learn to love myself again exactly as I am."
In June, she was featured on the cover of Self magazine, and talked about her diet and exercise regimen. In the interview she said, eating healthy and working out help her "stay sane" and confidant.
The singer insisted that she laughed at all the haters and negativity.
"I've had so many people telling me, 'No, you can't do that,' 'No, you're not pretty enough,' 'No, you're not skinny enough,'" she said. "And I just had to be like, 'you're not stopping me. Get out of my way.'"
Kesha confessed in an interview with Metro that she did not realize at first how many eyes would be on her after releasing an album but next time would be prepared.
Surrounding several controversies that her label head and record producer Dr Luke forced her to sing songs that she did not want to, are new rumors that he also in fact bullied her into an eating disorder, multiple reports said.
The singer leaked a song called "Dancing with the Devil" that did not make her last record, which alludes to her label head. In the song the 26-year-old sang that she relinquished control to this "devil."
"You and I made a deal, I was young and **** got real/ Weaving through Heaven and back,? Whoaaa/ Your love is made of dirty gold/ But I'm the one who sold my soul/ So go ahead and take my hand, ?Whoaaa," are lyrics from the song. "I keep on dancing with the Devil" is the recurring hook.
At the top of the year Kesha stated that this year would be the breakthrough year, and now as the singer has checked into rehab to take this time to "love herself" music lovers must pray that she finds the truth of God and his love for her.
"cheers to this year being the best year ever. 2014 gon be the year of truth and freedom" she tweeted.
