Kevin Hart News: Superstar Comedian Talks Bill Cosby Rape Allegations in Interview

Superstar comedian Kevin Hart received a cover and profile in The Hollywood Reporter recently, in which he goes into depth about his career, life outside of entertainment, and the allegations against Bill Cosby.

In the feature, Hart was asked about his feelings on the Bill Cosby allegations. He described in as a "longtime hero" and admitted to having a portrait of him on his wall. Hart stated he has many comedians he admires on his wall at home. Along with Cosby there's Eddie Murphy, Dave Chappelle, Richard Pryor, Martin Lawrence, and Chris Rock.

When asked if he was going to take it down in light of the allegations he responded, "I'm not going to take the picture down. The picture serves a purpose for me. These were the men who built a legacy doing what they love to do, which is telling jokes."

He went on to answer if he believed the 77-year old comedian was guilty.

"Right now, it's a lot of speculation. All I can do is just say my prayers, and my wishes go out to all of the women who are potentially involved. His personal life has nothing to do with me. I can't control it. I will never try. It doesn't stop me from being an admirer of his work. His work and his personal life are two separate things."

Cosby inspired Hart's generation of comedians and his respect for him won't permit him to scrutinize him or discredit what he's done for the entertainment business as a whole.

In an interview with Sirius XM in 2012, Hart made a statement on why he admired Cosby:

"Bill Cosby made it cool to talk about real life and marriage and kids," he said, "Things that people didn't think about at one point in time in show business. You don't have to be filthy to make people laugh."
