Kristen Chenoweth Gives Back To Broken Arrow Community. Kristen Chenoweth Helps BAPAC.

Kristen Chenoweth, the Emmy and Tony Award winning actress has decided to help out her hometown of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with beginning a partnership with the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Foundation. The actress and singer stated in a press release, "I am so excited to work more closely with the theater in my hometown that bears my name. I am looking forward to this new partnership and the future of the BAPAC." Though the details are still being worked out, Kristen Cheoweth and Mark Frie, executive director of BAPAC, are going to try and get the foundation to be able to offer more than just entertainment and be able to have scholarship funds, musical instruments, and more at the facility.

"I suppose we'll all figure this out together as we go along," Frie said. In talking with her, she was very interested in the big-picture things, the whole idea of legacy, she wanted to help the BAPAC Foundation go beyond offering entertainment. We talked about such things as scholarships, buying musical instruments for students who can't afford them, creating a summer arts institute for students throughout the region. It was like there was no box we needed to think outside of." The BAPAC was originally founded to bring a variety of performing and visual arts to the community of Broken Arrow. The foundation currently holds shows that spotlight national performers, classes that contain key-note musical guests, and educational outreach programs. "We're really in a unique situation," Frie said. "Things like this usually are done after a celebrity has died. To have someone like Kristin Chenoweth, who's a performer in her prime, be so involved in this is a huge asset. Her partnership will help give us more of a national voice."
