Lady Gaga Lawsuit Brought on by Ex-Personal Assistant for Unpaid Overtime Wages
Lady Gaga whose real name is Stefani Germanotta is being sued by a former member of her entourage, Jennifer O'Neil. The lawsuit is over un-paid overtime wages. Judge Paul G. Gardephe of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said the lawsuit will go to trial November 4.
Jennifer O'Neil, who was employed in early 2009 and again from February 2010 to March 2011, said that she worked 24/7 as a personal assistant to Gaga. After being re-hired by Gaga, she was told her annual salary would be $75,000.
O'Neil wants more than $350,000 in un-paid wages. She said,
"Every day is a work day for her, so every day is a work day for the rest of us. There is no, we're going to stay in, we're going to sleep. There is no, let's put on sweatpants and go out to the movies and be girlfriends. It doesn't work like that."
Gaga responded to O'Neil's outrageous claim by saying O'Neil "deserves every one of her $75,000 that we agreed to, but she does not deserve a penny more."
After all, $350,000 is a little outrageous when you're annual salary is only 75 grand. Stay tuned for news and updates.
