'Law & Order SVU' Season 18 Episode 5 Spoilers: Donald Trump-Inspired Episode Pushed Back To Another Date
For some reason, NBC has decided to postpone "Law & Order: SVU" season 18, episode 5, which is said to feature a character inspired by US Presidential candidate Donald Trump.
"The episode originally scheduled for Oct. 26 has been postponed. It has not yet been assigned a new airdate," an NBC representative told CNN.
Titled "Unstoppable," this particular episode of NBC's longest running series is believed to be one of the most controversial episodes yet, as it features a fictional politician named Gary Cole, who strikingly resembles Donald Trump. The episode follows the presidential hopeful Cole as he goes in hot water following indictments by women detrimental enough to cost him the presidential post.
In the promo video for the episode, Cole says, "I'm a handsome, charming millionaire. Women throw themselves at me."
Just recently, a 2005 audio recording of Donald Trump making lascivious remarks on Access Hollywood made the rounds online. In the recording, he was boasting that he can do anything to women.
Currently, Trump also faces allegations by a woman who accused him of raping her before.
According to reports, the controversial subject of "Unstoppable" had the writers of the show and the NBC network subject it to extra scrutiny, especially since the series is known for being inspired by real-life events. An episode titled "Rape Interrupted" will serve as episode 5 instead of "Unstoppable," which will come at a later date.
"Law & Order: SVU" season 18, episode 5 has been postponed until after the Nov. 8 US presidential elections.
