LeBron James to Develop a new Show Called "Survivors Remorse" on Starz.
LeBron James is in talks about developing a new show with his longtime business partner Maverick Carter who has produced shows like Roseanne and The Cosby Show. The show will be called Survivor's Remorse and will be airing on the Starz network.
Survivor's Remorse will follow the lives of two men from the streets who reach fame and, one of whom is a NBA star. The show will focus on how they deal with becoming famous and cope with friends and family members while they're in the spotlight. LeBron will not be appearing on show, he will be an executive producer.
In a phone interview about the show James said, "I think the main thing for me is, first of all, making it out of a place where you're not supposed to. You're supposed to be a statistic and end up like the rest of the people in the inner city. Being one of the few to make it out and everyone looking at you to be the savior."
"When you make it out, everyone automatically thinks that they made it out and it's very tough for a young, African-American 18-year-old kid to now hold the responsibility of a whole city, of a whole community. I can relate to that as well."
The show will be based in North Philly and has yet set a premiere date. Stay tuned for updates.
