LeBron James Not Running for NBPA President / Miami Heat Star Says "I hope it's someone who...can do the job"

After winning two consecutive NBA championships in a row, you'd think LeBron James would have his plateful trying to win his third for the Miami Heat.

There have been rumors over the last week or so that James would run for president or vice president of the National Basketball Players Association.

According to a source close to James, who asked to remain anonymous, James has reconsidered the job. Though James heavily researched executive committee positions but ultimately decided if he couldn't give the job 100% then he wouldn't want to do it. James called Heat teammate and NBPA secretary-treasurer James Jones on Monday, to tell him he wouldn't run for office.

Last weekend, LeBron James spoke up about his NBPA concerns at a charity event in Akron, Ohio.

"I just the think the union is going backwards and it's not in a good place right now," James said last week. "I think my voice could be huge in that situation. But I'm not sure I have the time to do it but it's something I'm going to think about with my team and go from there. But I think we all can agree there's been a lot of transition in our union in the last couple of years. If it's not me in that seat then I hope it's someone who is comfortable with it and can do the job."

A source close to James says the perennial all-star may nominate James Jones for the position.
