Lightning Returns Final Fantasy 13 Demo Now on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, Pre-orders Get Cloud Strife and Yuna Costumes
Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy 13 Demo is now up on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network, game publisher Square Enix announced yesterday.
According to Polygon, the demo is 1.14 GB and will focus on the character, Lightning. Some customizable features and battle schemes will be playable as well.
"Once in battle, you'll notice how the battle system has evolved from the traditional paradigm shift party system into strategically using Schema. Each Schema has its own ATB gauge, allowing you to attack relentlessly with commands mapped to corresponding buttons. Then you'll switch to a new Schema, and all of your attacks change too, allowing you to pummel the enemy with different elements and attacks. Lightning is a one-woman army," wrote a Square Enx executive on the PlayStation Blog.
The PS3 demo has a special DLC, the Utsusemi Samurai garb which will be in the new game but is not available in the demo. Pre-orders will get Cloud Strife's Soldier 1st Class uniform with his Buster Sword, reported Polygon. Amazon pre-orders will get gamers Yuna's "Spira Summoner" DLC. This DLC will feature Yuna's full outfit along with her staff and victory pose.
Recently a Final Fantasy X and X-2 HD remake came out in Japan during Christmas for the PS3 and PS Vita, and will be heading to the U.S. in March.

The Vita version will no longer be two separate purchases but one purchase of FFX with a download voucher for X-2 for $39.99. The PS3 version will be bundled together as two separate games.
"The game will be coming to PS Vita on March 18th alongside the PS3 version. It will support cross save functionality, and will retail for $39.99!" PlayStation Blog posted. "The combo pack will also be available as a download on PlayStation Store. If you prefer a physical copy, you can buy Final Fantasy X at retail, which will include a voucher to download Final Fantasy X-2 from the PlayStation Store."
