Lindsay Lohan "The Canyons" criticised by Director for 'turning her back' on movie. Venice Film Festival Premiere

Lindsay Lohan just finished up her  film "The Canyons" after she was released from Rehab this september. The films Director, Paul Schrader is on fire about Lohan not reportedly showing up to any events to promote the new movie. With Scrader being the only Director in Hollywood to hire Lohan, he is completley mystified by Lohans actions. "The Canyons" , an erotic thriller,  features James Deen and Lindsay Lohan as a couple that is fighting their relationship from  ending because of an affair. With the young movie producer, Christian (James Deen), working hard to keep his trust funds intact, Tara (Lohan) finds herself getting attention from another man. When Christian finds out, the movie takes a wrong turn and he finds himself seeking the darkside of human nature.

According to Director Schrader, Lohan promised to be at all the promotions for the film, but didnt show up to any of them. The Venice Film Festival is where "The Canyons" started promotion and ended with moderate reviews. The Guardians review of the film was " a punch drunk and jaundiced peice of Hollywood Noir". When Scrader realized that Lohan didnt attend the biggest night of the films career, he simply stated to press that ,"Today, I am a free man. For the last 18 months I have been a hostage, of my own choosing, to a very talented but unpredicatable actress.". Schrader ended on a note by saying that her absence of all the promotions must be from her uncomfortableness on set with co-star, James Deen.
