Lorde Disses Taylor Swift: "Royals" Singer Says Taylor Swift is Too Perfect and Sets a Bad Example For Girls [VIDEO]

New pop star Lorde, whose new single "Royals" has taken the world by storm, overstepped her boundaries in her interview with Metro Magazine when she called Taylor Swift "too perfect." The "Royals" songstress is only 16 years old and is a newcomer to the United States from New Zealand. She said, "Taylor Swift is so flawless, and so unattainable, and I don't think it's breeding anything good in young girls. I'm never going to be like Taylor Swift - why can't I be as pretty as Lorde? Thanks f***ing bull****. There's a lot of importance placed on physical perfection in this industry, and I wish my favorite stars didn't look perfect because I think fans (me included) have these feelings of worthlessness."

Lorde is known for her feminism politics and her outspoken style. She consistently interacts with fans on Twitter and Facebook and is never afraid to speak her mind, but why did she have to name drop Taylor Swift? She took to Tumblr to apologize and clarify what she meant. She said the quote was, "cocked up a bit and what I said wasn't put in context." She claims that she meant no disrespect to the "Red" songstress! She said, "She happens to be good looking, but I think she actually uses her other imperfections in an incredibly powerful and relatable way. Taylor Swift has a very unique vision, which I admire."

Lorde is currently at the top of the iTunes charts and her single "Royals" is resting at Number 3 on the Billboard Top 100. Check out this video of her performing "Royals!"
