'Madam Secretary' Season 3 Episode 3 Spoilers, Preview: Elizabeth Compelled To Take On Another International Crisis

Elizabeth will be compelled to take on yet another international crisis in the next episode of "Madam Secretary" season 3.

In episode 2, a crisis situation unfolded in Algeria as a result of a risk of Syria-like situation following a series of dramatic hullabaloos. While the shakeup was mostly settled by the end of the episode, episode 3 will follow Elizabeth McCord as she is forced to deal with yet another international crisis brought by some major incidents in China.

The international crisis is not the only major story that viewers will see in the episode, as episode 3 will also follow Bess as she tries to figure out the person behind the cyber-hacking that started with her son in the premiere episode of the season. This can be considered as one of the most dangerous situations she has ever been in since the series began. While it does not have any immediate physical danger to her, everybody knows how devastating hacking can be, especially when it happens during election year.

"After U.S. environmental activists protesting China's damage of a South China Sea reef are arrested for spying, Elizabeth finds herself in a stalemate with the Chinese foreign minister as she lobbies for their release. Also, Henry pushes the FBI to investigate one of Elizabeth's former students who he suspects is his family's cyber-stalker, and President Dalton's trade visit to Vietnam brings back memories of serving there during the war," reads the official synopsis for the episode, via Catermatt.

"Madam Secretary" season 3, episode 3 airs on Oct. 23, 9:00 p.m. on CBS.
