Magic Johnson Has Officially Left the ESPN Network [DETAILS INSIDE] Doris Burke Will be his Magic Johnson's Replacement on ESPN

It's a sad day in the ESPN sports world. NBA Legend Ervin "Magic" Johnson is throwing in the towel on his role with ESPN. Johnson known as a partial owner of the L.A. Dodgers and entrepreneurial businessman announced Thursday that he'll no longer be a part of ESPN's NBA coverage due to other obligations.

In 2008 Johnson joined ESPN as a studio and game analyst and also appeared on ABC. The five-time NBA champion, three-time MVP and member of Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer released the following statement:

"I love ESPN. Unfortunately, due to the nature of my schedule and other commitments, I don't feel confident that I can continue to devote the time needed to thrive in my role. I will always feel a strong connection to the ESPN family and I enjoyed working with them very much."

We are all wondering who will be Johnson's replacement? It has been confirmed by USA Today that Doris Burke will be stepping to the plate during the NBA Countdown on Wednesdays during the season. ESPN did confirm the allegations. Sports Illustrated released the news stating that Burke signed a multi-year contract extension with the network and will make his debut in the studio on November 13.

We're going to miss Magic, but you have to do what you have to do. Stay tuned for more news and updates.
