Mark Schultz Releases Anticipated New Full-Length Album 'Follow'
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Mark Schultz on Friday released his first new full-length album in six years, Follow. The highly anticipated new project quickly entered the Top 10 on iTunes' Christian & Gospel albums chart, receiving early praise from critics.
The album features a number of brand-new songs from Schultz, including "Hope Is Rising," "Time Goes So Fast," Psalm 91." In addition, the talented songwriter has included several timeless fan-favorites, such as his worship anthems, "God of Glory," and "I Am."
On the album's title track, "Follow," Schultz parallels how he personally strives to navigate life, not by following his own will, but following the will of God. Originally inspired from the story about a girl with a rough upbringing and no father-figure, Schultz says he discovered that the implications of "Follow" reached even further than would have known.
He says as he lived with the song, it made him think, and he realized that the song was not just for her, but for him as well. It caused him to pose the question, "What do I follow?"
About the opening track, "Psalm 91," Schultz says, "I picked this song written by Jeremy and Kimberly Sorensen as the winner of a [Christian Contemporary Music] songwriting contest."
"I've also met them in Baltimore before one of my Christmas shows, which was really great," the artist explains. "They're wonderful writers, and this is my take on one of my favorite songs they've done."
Schultz is currently scheduled to perform at a number of dates across the country this fall, with the latest tour information available at his official website.
Follow can be streamed or purchased everywhere now, including iTunes, Amazon Music, Spotify, with links to the most popular digital music platforms available here.
