'Marvel's The Punisher' Netflix Series Cast, News: Michael Nathanson Joining Cast As Sam Stein?

Fans of Marvel have been patiently waiting for updates on the confirmed Netflix original series "The Punisher" since "Daredevil" season 2 introduced Frank Castle a.k.a. The Punisher to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Marvel gave the green light to "The Punisher" in April, with Jon Bernthal reprising his role as The Punisher and Steve Lightfoot serving as the showrunner and executive producer. He was also tapped to write the first two episodes of the upcoming series.

Recent updates on the series confirm that the series is now in production, and that Deborah Ann Woll from "Daredevil" will reprise her role as Karen Page. Other cast members also include Ben Barnes, Amber Rose Revah and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.

Just recently, Marvel TV has officially confirmed five more actors who will make an appearance on "The Punisher." Daniel Webber will play a young veteran named Lewis Walcott; Jason Moore will portray Frank Castle's friend Curtis Hoyle, and Paul Schulze will play a high-ranking CIA member named Rawlins. Jaime Ray Newman and Michael Nathanson were also tapped to play Micro's wife Sarah Lieberman and Homeland agent Sam Stein, respectively.

In their official casting announcement, Steve Lightfoot and fellow executive producer Jeph Loeb talked about the cast of the upcoming series.

"We couldn't have asked for a more talented group of actors to round out the cast of Marvel's 'The Punisher.' It's a thrill to watch them each bring their characters to life with such layered, nuanced performances," said Lightfoot.

"Marvel TV is very proud of the cast of 'The Punisher.' Each actor brings a special promise who surround Jon Bernthal's exceptional performance," added Leob.

"The Punisher" is expected to premiere sometime in 2017.
