Several news outlets are reporting what they think are clues explaining why there's reason to believe the "Mass Effect: Andromeda" release date that has been going around the web.

According to this report, fans are referring to Amazon listing March 21 as the release date for the game. But upon closer inspection, the date was for 2016.

However, the article notes that this new listing coincided with the previous report about the game being launched together with "The Art of Mass Effect Andromeda" book. The book from Dark Horse will reportedly drop on March 21, 2017. In addition, that date is a Tuesday, which is usually the day when games are launched.

To be clear, EA has not yet released the official release date for "Mass Effect: Andromeda" so chalk this bit of news under rumors for now.

In related news, the "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will reportedly not start off another trilogy, contrary to all the rumors that have been going around.

This was confirmed by creative director Marc Walters himself who said that they will not follow the trajectory of the first "Mass Effect" games. But he quickly added that "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will kick off another mythology altogether.

Because the announcement was vague, it only served to fuel the rumor mill regarding the true nature of the game.
