‘Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain’ PC, PS4, Xbox One Release Date, Trailer: 'MSG 5' Set for 2015 Launch
During the recently held Tokyo Game Show 2014, Hideo Kojima, the game's producer, said that 'Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain' will be released sometime in 2015.
Even though 'The Phantom Pain' is months away, Kojima gave the game's fans a preview by demonstrating the title in a special stage presentation.
Gameplay for 'The Phantom Pain' has already been shown at both the E3 and Gamescom 2014 events. That showcase featured an Afghanistan mission, but the one that Kojima demonstrated at the Tokyo Game Show was different.
The gameplay that Kojima showed off focused mainly on the concept of cooperative stealth, and the female sniper named Quiet.
The character Quiet was introduced to the fans previously through one of the game's trailers. She is known to have superhuman abilities which allow her to move undetected and turn invisible. The said character was also seen interacting with Big Boss and his Diamond Dogs.
In the gameplay demo, Quiet acted as the partner of Big Boss by helping him sneak undetected through a guarded jungle. She invisibly snuck through the forest armed with her sniper rifle, while Big Boss killed soldiers one-by-one as he works his way around the area. Basically, the gameplay demonstration showed how the characters use their individual abilities to help each other.
In one instance, Quiet shot the helmet off a soldier moments before Big Boss fired a tranquilizer dart into the soldier's head.
Based on the gameplay demonstrated, it seems that Quiet can aid Big Boss in battles, by means of her long-range covering fire.
Meanwhile, it was confirmed that the fifth installment to the 'Metal Gear Solid' game franchise will be available in a PC version. Kojima himself said during the Q&A, that the game will be made available via Valve's Steam client.
