Microsoft Surface Phone Release Date, Specs & Rumors: Device Keeps Up With Fingerprint Scanner?

News and rumors on the highly anticipated Microsoft Surface phone alleged that it will have several goodies apart from the 4K display and high-end specs.

One of the more exciting things to come out of the news reports and rumors was that the Microsoft Surface phone will have a fingerprint scanner to keep up with the high-end devices of Apple and Samsung. It will also have an AMOLED display with 1440 x 2560 resolution.

This was reported by Beta News allegedly based on the patent applied by Microsoft for the fingerprint scanner and transparent cover. However, it must be noted that there's no confirmation from the company regarding this.

According to the leaked specs for the phone, the new phone will have an 8 GB of RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor, 5.7-inch screen, USB-C and 21 MP main camera with 8 MP front camera. These numbers are significantly better in contrast to the earlier news and rumors that it will have a 4 GB of RAM as well as 64 GB of internal storage.

If the latest specs are true, however, the Microsoft Surface phone would have a 512 GB internal storage, although this one is debatable considering that it's never been done before. Also that would shoot up the price to the stratosphere.

Also, if the Microsoft Surface phone would feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 processor, we can't expect the device to come out until the second half of 2017.

Watch out for more news and rumors on the Microsoft Surface phone, which will be published here when they come along.
