Miley Cyrus Poses with 'Dead Girl' in Marc Jacobs Fashion Campaign

Marc Jacobs revealed via the brand's Twitter page last night that Miley Cyrus will be the new face of his spring 2014 campaign showcasing the image of the singer posing with a "dead girl."

David Sims shot the Marc Jacobs Intl SS14 Campaign in which the pop singer made her fashion spread debut. Jacobs usually worked on collection campaigns with Juergen Teller, but Teller reportedly did not want to shoot the former Disney star.

The gloomy ad featured the "Wrecking Ball" singer sitting on sand, wearing a navy jacket with black embellishment, maroon shorts, and black sneakers with embroidered white flowers. Rather than striking her famous pose of sticking out her tongue, the pop star went for less funny and more serious - desolate, with a wandering look into the distance.

Next to the singer is a model flat on her back, hair partially covering her face, lying stiff and appearing lifeless while another woman stands behind her in the distance.

Cyrus revealed in past interviews that it was Marc Jacobs who introduced her to fashion when she was just a young Disney star, and that she has inspired some of his work.

Female corpses appear to be becoming a fashion trend in Hollywood. High profile photographer Tyler Shields also used death as a theme in a lot of his work, such as a shoot he did with Lindsay Lohan in 2010.

Cyrus has been stirring up much media attention recentl as stars have been weighing in on Cyrus' controversial actions of late.

The Touch of Frost star, British actor, David Jason described Cyrus as an example of the corroding standards of modern society.

"She has done it to break the mold," he told The Sun on Sunday. "I can understand why, but we have given her the oxygen of publicity and encouraged it, so young girls will think it is the right way to attract men. We've lost our standards."

"It slowly drip feeds, erodes standards of politeness, manners and morality, It just drips and it takes us further and further down, and instead of inspiring us to look up, we are all going down," he continued.

Kate Winslet also weighed in and said, "I mean, you think about someone like Miley Cyrus, and I said to my daughter the other day, 'I'm this close to opening my mouth about what's going on with that girl.' Who is actually saying, 'Stop for a second, what do you want, who are you?'"

"God, who's looking after these people and why does it seem like they're losing their way?" Winslet similarly told Psychologies magazine.
