Miranda Lambert's Younger Brother Arrested on DUI Charge in 2010, Served 12 Days in Jail

While in the midst of fending off rumors that her marriage with fellow country star and The Voice judge Blake Shelton is on the rocks, Miranda Lambert now has to deal with a past report that may prove excessive drinking habits run in the family. the

The National Enquirer is running a story that dates back to a DUI arrest involving Lambert's younger brother Leslie "Luke" Adams Lambert. Back in 2010 Luke was arrested for driving with a blood alcohol level of .144 and served 12 days in jail after pleading no contest. According to the report, Luke had mixed alcohol with Lexapro, an anti-anxiety medication.

"Luke's arrest is no joking matter and Miranda knows it," a source close to the family told the Enquirer. "That's why she's kept it under wraps. People would be outraged. Her brother could have killed himself - or someone else. Miranda could have done a lot of good by talking about it because there are kids who hang on her every word. Instead, she's kept it secret."

Lambert and Shelton are no strangers to drinking alcohol and are not afraid to talk freely about it. Some sources close to the couple even blame the power country couple for providing a bad example for the younger sibling. Or at the very least talk about her brother's illness rather than try to hide it.

"Miranda could have done a lot of good talking about [the consequences of her brother's drinking] because there are kids who hang on her every word," the source told the Enquirer. "Instead, she's kept it secret."
