'Modern Family' Sarah Hyland News: Talks Physical & Emotional Abuse on the 'Meredith Viera Show'
Fans of 'Modern Family' star Sarah Hyland might have known about her recent break up from Matthew Prokop, but what they didn't know until recently, is how Prokop allegedly abused her. Hyland revealed some shocking information about the matter in a recent interview on the 'Meredith Viera Show'.
"There are two quotes that I wanna say, one is a Dylan Thomas poem: 'Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light,' which is one of my favorite poems. It just strikes a chord in me," she told Meredith.
Hyland also quoted Robert Frost saying "The only way out is through' as helping her through her difficult time," she said describing her experience with her ex-boyfriend. 'People have to go through things in order to become the person they are today, and that's that," Hyland continued.
It was just last month when Hyland was granted a restraining order against the 'Highschool Musical 3' actor. Allegedly, Prokop choked her, threatened to harm her dog, and said he was going to burn her house.
Reports also claim that Prokop allegedly pinned her against a car during an argument and again, choked her.
"His grip was so tight that I could not breathe or speak. I was scared and in fear for my life," Hyland stated in the court documents.
It is unknown as to how often Prokop allegedly physically abused her, but it most probably will be the last time. It has been reported that the restraining order which prevents Prokop to be near Hyland or her dog is good for three years.
Not only abusing Hyland physically, apparently Prokop also allegedly abused the TV series star emotionally.
Prokop, according to Hyland, "relentlessly bombarded me with vile, threatening and emotionally disturbing texts and voice mails including his own suicide threats," she said on the 'Meredith Viera Show'.
