Moriah Peters Performing at K-LOVE Music Awards / Single "I Choose Jesus" #47 on Billboard Christian Songs Chart
The California raised teen, Moriah Peters has made the decision to not only take the world by storm, but to also share God's blessings with everyone. The 19 year old signed a record deal with the top Christian label group, Reunion Records. Her first single, "I Choose Jesus" talks about what she ultimately overcame during her journey to becoming an artist. Originally turned down from American Idol, the Christian pop singer has made a name with young adults for inspiring them to never turn their back on God and to always stand up for your religion. "I Choose Jesus" was written out of the experiences I had in high school where I was one of only a handful of Christians in my classroom, since most people were either atheist, agnostic, or following a different religion" Peters stated.
"I realized very quickly in that environment that you have to take a strong stand in what you believe in, and that people wont always necessarily agree with you, but they will respect you for saying something." As Moriah became stronger in her faith, as did her musical creativity. Moriah has had the opportunity to work close with some Christian artists that are known for their award winning albums such as the Rhett Walker Band. The album "I Choose Jesus" has been on the charts for the last seven weeks and has charted at No. 11 on the Billboard Christian songs chart and is holding No. 47 slot this week.
The fresh new Christian artist is also going to be performing at the upcoming K-LOVE Fan Awards in Nashville, TN. The music award show is the first ever fan picked artists awards show. Moriah Peter posted on her blog that she would be making new memories by performing with 'big brother' Mike Donehey from Tenth Avenue North at the K-LOVE awards in ten days. Moriah Peter has not yet said if there will be a second album releasing soon. For more information on Moriah Peters go to her website at moriahpeters.com.
