The Dove Foundation has announced the nominees for the 2013 crystal Dove Seal Award. Find out which films made the cut for Best Adventure, Best Animated, Best Drama and more.

The Dove foundation endorses movies that it considers suitable for family audiences. Its mission statement explains their goal as a foundation is, "to encourage and promote the creation, production, distribution and consumption of wholesome family entertainment."

 There were several adventure films released in 2013 here are the films that the Dove chose for the Best Adventure movies: Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, Enders Game, Thor: The Dark World, Jack the Giant Slayer, After Earth and Oz the Great and Powerful 3D.

The Best Animated films that were chosen are:The Croods, Epic, Escape from Planet Earth, The Smurfs 2, Free Birds (2013), Frozen, Walking with Dinosaurs, Despicable Me 2, Turbo, Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2, Planes, and Monsters University.

The nominees for Best Documentary include some popular celebrity produced movies Unstoppable (2013) by Kirk Cameron, Jeremy Lin's Linsanity The Movie, Justin Biebers Believe, and Jerusalem (IMAX/Giant Screen Theaters).

The cinematic features that made the cut for Best Drama are: the star studded Black Nativity, The Book Thief, The Ultimate Life, and Grace Unplugged.

There is a flood of nominees for Best Limited, meaning flicks that did well and had a limited release, mostly in large cities. The list of contenders are: Doonby, Alone Yet Not Alone, The Christmas Candle, Im in Love with a Church Girl, Strange Brand of Happy, The Lost Medallion: The Adventures of Billy Stone, Not Today, Kings Faith, Tiger Eyes, Tio Papi: aka Uncle Daddy, Copperhead, Different Drummers, Angels Sing: A Christmas Movie, The Investigator, Home Run, Camp and the strictly Faith Based films Brothers Keeper, and A Miracle in Spanish Harlem.
