‘NBA 2K15’ Release Date Arrives: Gameplay Review - Run Down of Features & Changes
'NBA 2K15', the highly-anticipated basketball simulation game was released today on various gaming platforms like the Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, and PC. The new title is packed with several new features, returns with rich graphics, and has new animations and a new career mode.
Aside from the jaw-dropping graphics, 2K15 Games developer Visual Concepts also added a shot meter to the game so players would know when to correctly release the ball when taking a shot.
The shot meter is said to address frustrating random misses from players like Shawn Marion in the game and help players make that perfect shot.
Aside from the shot meter, 'NBA 2K15' features vivid and realistic animations.
Players' movements in the game are smooth and more true-to-life than the previous versions of the game.
Also, Visual Concepts brought in NBA All-Stars to narrate game tutorials. Kevin Durant discusses the shot meter, Stephen Curry elaborates on the 100 new dribbling and size-up moves while Anthony Davis talks about defense.
Aside from that, the athletes in the game are dubbed by the actual basketball players themselves. "If you play for the Thunder, Kevin Durant will be there to criticize your poor play, or offer words of encouragement after a tough loss," relays ForTheWin.
There are also major changes to the game's career mode. "MyCareer" now follows a story of an NBA rookie created by the player trying to work his way in the basketball league.
Although the move was creative, there was a slight misstep, according to ForTheWin, "the dialogue in cutscenes was often cringeworthy, and having conversations with silent teammates in the locker room felt a little awkward."
A huge improvement in the game is that players can now pick their own team.
In '2K14', players have to play an entire draft under the Rookie Showcase. Now, the players, after starting out as an undrafted athlete can tryout with any team in the league.
Also, gamers who wish to play online with others can use their characters to play pickup games in MyPark.
NBA Legends Kevin Harlan, Clark Kellog and Steve Kerr, along with Ernie Johnson and Shaquille O'Neal provide commentaries and pre-game analysis in 'NBA 2K15'.
With striking graphics, fluid gameplay, and lots of new and exciting features, 2K Games fans will surely look forward to 'NBA 2K15'.
