NCIS Fan Favorite Cote de Pablo Leaving CBS' Number One Drama

Promising "NCIS" fans surprises, goodbyes, but no death scene, Executive producer Gary Glasberg took to Twitter recently answer concerns about writing Cote off the show.

In the open letter to the over twenty million loyal viewers, Glasberg stressed he might disagree with her leaving the show but he respects de Pablo's decision and said they spent all summer working on her character's exit and shaping Season 11.

"The amazing resolution you're going to see is pretty damn heart-wrenching and we're incredibly proud of it," Glasberg wrote. "Prepare yourselves for a moment in television history. Images that will end up in the archives. I couldn't be happier with how my 'NCIS' family stepped up and did some of the most emotional work we've ever done."

De Pablo announced she was leaving "NCIS" this past summer.

CBS President Les Moonves said he tried everything he could to get her to stay. "We offered Cote a lot of money and then we offered her even more money. We really didn't want to lose her. We love her ... We obviously were in discussion with the rest of the cast and the producers [and Cote]. Ultimately, she decided she didn't want to do the show."

She'll appear in the first two episodes of Season 11.

Grab those handkerchiefs and prepare to say goodbye to Cote de Pablo's character Ziva David at the beginning in the "NCIS" Season 11 premiere on Tuesday, September 24th at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
