'New Girl' Episode 9, "Longest Night Ever" aired last night as Jess and Nick get ready for a quite date night alone when things are interrupted as Winston asks Nick to take care of his beloved cat. Shmidt then arrives with a steaming peach cobbler as he begans to literally eat his feelings away at the fact that Cece and Coach are going on a date. Coach comes out of his room and admits to being pretty nervous about the date, as Shmidt reluctantly gives him a series of very hard high fives. 

As Coach and CeCe headed off on their date, she was surprised to be at the L.A. Sparks basketball game. Between Coach showering her with merchandise and food, Cece became insecure pretty quickly at the lack of attention she was getting and stormed out of the stadium. Back at the loft, Nick left the windows open and ferguson (the cat) had escaped. As soon as Winston found out, they were off on an adventure to find the feline. Meanwhile, Shmidt took charge and decided to break up Coach and CeCe's date when Jess stopped him with singing Neil Diamond and tap dancing. Remembering his player days, Jess thought it was a good idea to take Shimdt to the bar. It backfired and Shmidt dipped out on Jess as they arrived. 

Meanwhile, Winston finds Ferguson at a hamster loving womens house named, Bertie. The three share crusty bologna sandwiches as Winstona and Bertie start to flirt with one another. Nick feeling very uncomfortable, leaves as you see Winston and Bertie make sweet weird love in a sink. Shmidt is still running away from Jess when she finds him at the Staple Center. Jess and Shimdt began going back and forth on going home when he begs her to lightly tap him in the butt with her car. She does, but lands Shmidt in the hospital by doing so. On there way home, Jess and Shimdt are headed inside as he catches a glimpse of CeCe and Coach kissing eachother goodnight. He finally admits that he isn't fine, but he will be eventually. Episode 9," Longest Night Ever" ends with Jess and Shmidt watching Coach and CeCe make out and Jess snarking comment, "It's been half an hour. Come up for air, ya weirdos!"
