New York New Year’s Eve 2014 Live Stream Free: Where to Watch Times Square Ball Drop On TV, Online (VIDEO)

 

New York will celebrate New Year 2014 tonight with up to a million set to squeeze in to Times Square in Manhattan to watch the iconic ball drop to end 2013 and see in 2014. For those unable to get to Times Square a live stream will be available to capture the full celebration, including all the musical acts (details below).

 

The New Year party in New York will see a host of musical performances leading up to the midnight Ball Drop including Miley Cyrus, Melissa Etheridge, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Blondie, Rodney Atkins, Icona Pop, Jencarlos Canela and El Dasa.

The special NYE 2014 event will be hosted by Allison Hagendorf, and will even feature an exclusive clip of the upcoming "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" movie set to come out next year.

The live stream begins at 6 p.m. ET and will include the lighting and raising of the Times Square New Year Ball. That will be followed by a Chinese Cultural Performance, which will be presented by the Sino-American Friendship Association.

The first musical performance will take place at 8.15 p.m. ET as Rodney Atkins performs three songs from Times Square.

Later, Icona Pop will perform as part of ABC's "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" which will begin at 8:35 p.m. ET.

Other acts will include;Melissa Etheridge will perform at 9:14 p.m. ET, followed by Blondie at 9:32 p.m. ET.

At 9:52 p.m. ET, NASA will broadcast a special "Happy New Year" message from space featuring three astronauts from the International Space Station; Rick Mastracchio, Mike Hopkins, Koichi Wakata.

At 10 p.m. ET Spider-Man will help the countdown continue, and following the superhero, a video message will be given by Emma Stone, along with a performance by El Dasa.

The exclusive "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" clip will air at 10:50 p.m. ET, and Miley Cyrus will perform "#GetItRight" and "Wrecking Ball" in Times Square beginning at 11:39 p.m. ET.

 

Melissa Etheridge will be the final NYE 2014 performance, beginning at 11:52 p.m. ET, and that will lead to Justice Sotomayor to lead the countdown at 11.59 p.m. ET.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg will not be attending the New Year's Eve celebration in Times Square, and instead this year will spend New Year with friends and family.

The New Year's Eve 2014 celebration will be televised on ABC, NBC, CNN, and Fox.

Also, ABC will be featuring its traditional "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" which will be hosted by Ryan Seacrest, beginning at 10 p.m. EST, and will also feature a special performance by Billy Joel from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn after midnight.
