New York's Attorney General Sues Donald Trump for $40 million

New York attorney General is suing Donald Trump for $40 million on the grounds that Trump helped run a fake "Trump University" where he promised to make students rich, but instead he steered into being more broke than they originally started. Many of the students paid up to $35,000 to attend the school and thought they would meet Trump but instead all they got was their picture taken in front of a life-size picture of him.

Attorney General Eric Schneiderman released the following statements,

"Trump University engaged in deception at every stage of consumers' advancement through costly programs and caused real financial harm, Trump University, with Donald Trump's knowledge and participation, relied on Trump's name recognition and celebrity status to take advantage of consumers who believed in the Trump brand."

Trump and his attorney, Michael D. Cohen threw shots back saying that the Democrat's lawsuit is phony and is politically motivated. Trump's attorney accuses Schneiderman of trying to extort campaign contributors from Trump and the University never defrauded anyone and that the Schneiderman received almost 11,000 testimonies from actual students who called the program excellent. Cohen released the following statement,

"The attorney general has been angry because he felt that Mr. Trump and his various companies should have done much more for him in terms of fundraising, this entire investigation is politically motivated and it is a tremendous waste of taxpayers' money." "Donald Trump will not sit back and be extorted by anyone, including the attorney general."

Schneiderman's lawsuit covers complaints dating to 2005 through 2011 and the 3 day seminars didn't teach consumers everything they need to know about real estate as promised. The Trump University handbook even tells instructors to not let the consumer think 3 days enough to make them successful.
